Siri is a feature for the iPhone 4S when it first debut in a form of beta. With iOS6, the beta tag was removed. It isn’t exclusive to the iPhone 4S anymore. The new iPad, iPod Touch 5th Gen and the iPhone 5 joined the list of iDevices with Siri functionality. The list of commands is long. Apple wants you to treat her as your personal assistant. Here are a few things she is useful for.
Alarms
If you constantly create new alarms because you’re schedule isn’t always the same, you would end up with something like this — look at the scrollbar.

That’s a lot of alarms. Imagine having to enable/disable/delete some or all of them. It’s a nightmare! Siri ease the load by helping you do all those things. Just ask her, she’ll be glad to help.

Now how about deleting/enabling/disabling one specific alarm? Why not?
WolframAlpha
WolframAlpha is a Computational Knowledge Engine. It can do all sort of things, from computing complex mathematical question, to generating complex passwords. It can even decipher color code such as ‘#ff0000″ to Red. Not only that, it can also give you population and geographical answers if you so desire to know. The list of questions it can handle goes on and on. Think of it as an encyclopedia, on steroids. This application is available for iOS, but Siri have it integrated.
The trick is to say ‘Wolfram’ in front of a query you would like to ask WolframAlpha. Otherwise, it’s default to search Google. Here are some examples for Siri to answer your WolframAlpha question.
Search Through Your Calendar
Siri can also help you find a meeting, appointment or event via keywords. It’s not necessary to provide the full name, just a part of it. Alternatively, you can also check whether a certain day is eventful.
Introduce Your Closed Ones To Siri
Sometimes, Siri can’t get the pronunciation right for names. It’s not the right way to pronounce the unique name, but you shouldn’t change the way you pronounce the name. Sure, you can teach Siri phonics to get her to pronounce the right way. But there’s an easier way. Tell Siri who is your mother, father, girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband, daughter or son. She’ll remember them so the next time you tell her to send a message to your wife, she’ll know who to send it to.
Send A Message To Multiple Recipients.
Do you know that you could send a message to multiple recipients? Of course you do. How about sending a group message if they use iMessage? Of course. Then do you know that the message become a broadcast one if one or more recipient didn’t turn on iMessage? Perhaps. But do you know you can instruct Siri to send a message to multiple people? Not likely. Not many people know about this.
Punctuation, Signs
Speaking about messages. Did you know you can say things like ‘question mark’, ‘exclamation point’, ‘period’, ‘at sign’, ‘all caps’, ‘percent sign’, ‘dollar sign’, ‘pound sign’ and Siri will recognise and convert those into actual signs and punctuations? Now you do.
All these features can be done on an iDevice without using Siri by drilling into the respective application and perform the actions. However, using Siri to complete these tasks seem easier and quicker.
