Now I can’t exit the app, I can’t use the home or the lock button, when ever I click the home or the lock button, it said to click the home button three time to exit guided access. Hey Arthur, I faced the VERY same problem just 15 minutes ago. I’d been locked into guided access for about half an hour when I told my friend about it and he found the solution on this website. Try the solution given above by Technguide, it worked for me!
And Technguide, THANK YOU SO FREAKING MUCH!! I would’ve had to restore the phone. Thank you!!!

Hey. I’ve also had the same problem. But I have done exactly as you have said but it hasn’t worked me for. I have tried to put in my password and it keeps telling me the password is incorrect. I have also tried to shut my phone down but it’s not letting me do that. It just says guided access in enable! HELP ME PLEASE!

I was just messing around with my phone, and i came across the Guided Access option slide. Basically, i can’t shut off my phone like the directions say to. Do you know of any other ways of deactivating G.A. ?

Look. Hold down on both the lock AND home button until shut off. Problem solved. No erased data, and guided access is automatically disabled.

Shouldn’t take longer than 15 seconds to restart.

yeah, the same happend to me, just hold the lock button and the home button until your idevice powers down, wait 5 seconds power your phone back up, exit the app and go straight to setting>general>accessabilty, the just slide to guided access to off, restart your device by holdingthe home and lock button for about 10 seconds, then when you power your device back up, the problem should be solved ;)

    1.Hold the Lock Button
2.Slide the Slide To Power Off slider [If touch is disabled/you're unable to slide it, do a hard reset — hold the lock and home button for 8 seconds until the Apple Logo appears]
3.When your iDevices powers up, immediately exit the app that automatic open.

When I do the 3 steps above,…..When I turn it on it shows the lock screen for a brief moment then without sliding to unlock goes striaght to the last app I was on.
I press the homekey 3 times and a box comes up to enter password, I cant recell setting a password either.
Please help not sure what to do.

I just tried this on an iPad 2. Unfortunately, Guided Access disabled the power button. So I held down the power button and the home button at the same time. This caused my iPad to turn off. Then I turned it back on and entered my password. The app I was in didn’t show up on my screen. After I went to the app, I exited it with ease. Maybe Apple should design Guided Access so that the user can just tell Guided Access to use the same password or passcode that the user uses to unlock the device.

I turned on Guided access accidentally on my iphone 3gs and don’t remember the passcode. I tried the steps listed above, but my phone will not shut off even if I try the hard reboot. After holding it for ten seconds it goes to the lockscreen. I cannot touch anywhere on my phone other than the top corners and bottom 1/20 of my screen. I have assistive touch on and I have gone through all the options on that and nothing seems to be helping.
